The Pic du Midi de Bigorre, one of the most iconic peaks in the Hautes-Pyrénées, rises to an altitude of 2,877 meters. This legendary location offers spectacular views of the entire Pyrenees mountain range, from the Massif Central to the Spanish peaks.
Classified as a national natural site since 2003, the Pic du Midi attracts nature, mountain and astronomy enthusiasts.
On site, discover: the Ponton dans le Ciel, a dizzying suspended walkway; the experience area, dedicated to the site's history and scientific discoveries; the museum and observatory, a mecca for astronomical research; at night, the peak transforms into a privileged observation post of the starry sky, classified as an International Dark Sky Reserve (IDSR).
In winter, the Pic du Midi becomes the unmissable freeride skiing spot in the Pyrenees. The legendary 1,700 m vertical drop over 10 km attracts experienced skiers in search of thrills.
Routes such as the Yellow, Green, and Violet routes also allow experienced or curious skiers to discover the mountains in a different way, supervised if necessary by professionals.
