Located above Luz-Saint-Sauveur, Luz Ardiden is easy to reach, whether you’re travelling by car or public transport. For a more relaxed and sustainable trip, you can take advantage of the free shuttle services running from the village and from towns across south-west France.
Coming from further afield, such as Paris, Bordeaux or Bayonne? Taking the train is a great way to get closer to the mountains without the stress of a long drive.
Your journey: Take a TGV or TER to Lourdes train station, the nearest SNCF station to the resort.

Throughout the winter season, free shuttle services run regularly between the centre of Luz-Saint-Sauveur and the foot of the slopes in the Aulian area. It’s a convenient option if you’re staying anywhere in the valley.
At weekends and during the school holidays, direct bus services also run from the region’s main towns and cities, including Toulouse, Tarbes, Pau and Lourdes.
Driving to Luz Ardiden? Take the A64 motorway towards the Hautes-Pyrénées and exit at Lourdes, then follow the RN21 towards Pierrefitte-Nestalas and Luz-Saint-Sauveur. From the village, the final 12 km follow a well-maintained mountain road with a series of bends, taking you all the way up to the resort.
Yes, they’re completely free! Throughout the winter season, free shuttles run daily between the centre of Luz-Saint-Sauveur and the foot of the slopes (Aulian sector). They’re open to everyone, whether or not you have ski equipment.

Yes, all car parks at the resort are completely free. There are plenty of parking spaces across both sides of the resort: Aulian (the main resort area) and Béderet.
Yes. Under the French Mountain Law, from 1 November to 31 March, vehicles must be fitted with 4 winter tyres (or approved 3PMSF all-season tyres) or carry a pair of snow chains or snow socks in the boot. The road is regularly cleared of snow, but conditions can change quickly at higher altitudes.
It’s easy: when you arrive at Lourdes train station, you can take a liO regional bus service that runs directly to Luz-Saint-Sauveur. Once you reach the village, simply hop on the free shuttle to get up to the slopes.
